Handling Rejection From Publishers

Handling rejection from publishers is not easy. It can sometimes be a real letdown to find a letter coming back to you that eliminates your chances of getting your book out with a particular publisher. However, it it important to remember that most of the books that have gone down in history as great novels and many current bestsellers, went through rounds of rejection.

If you get any advice at all on things you can change to make your book a better seller, make sure you consider it. Publishing houses are in it to make money and they look for what they think will do well on the market. Sometimes, with a few minor changes, your book could be better poised to compete with other texts.

Experimenting With Novel Writing Ideas

As a writer, it can sometimes be easy to spend more time than you planned writing in a particular genre. You may have ideas that you never quite find the time to pursue. Keeping note of your ideas helps you to keep track of them and not lose them to time.

Some writers have fresh ideas coming to them from different sources of inspiration. Keeping a notebook handy to jot down things you want to write about can be helpful. It helps when you face a writing slump or writer's block and keeps you from getting bored.

Take time every now and then to try something new as a writer. Write on a different subject matter or format. It will challenge you and give you fresh inspiration for the projects that you are already working on.
